Speaker Ivonne Gaitan Topic / Issue Human Rights First Unitarian Church, SW 12th and Main Sponsor Alliance for Democracy - Portland Chapter Come hear Ivonne Gaitan's presentation about the Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) and learn what you can do to stop it! Ivonne Gaitan has been working in "maquilas" for over 12 years and she is currently a supervisor in a Free Trade Zone factory near Managua, Nicaragua. Ivonne works with the Network of Maquila Workers and the Textile Factory Union Roundtable organizing unions and giving workshops on subjects such as human and labor rights, self esteem, and gender and reproductive rights. She is currently the Secretary General of her union. This Witness for Peace Northwest sponsored tour is sponsored joinly in Portland by the Alliance for Democracy - Portland Chapter.
