DPO House Parties A Huge Success and Other News
Submitted by Teri Mills on July 20, 2005 - 4:00pm
Thanks to the wonderful support of Democracy for Oregon supporters, the DPO House Parties were a huge success last night. We even saw our beloved Ginny Ross doing a fantastic interview, Elly from Tigard taking a question or two, and Hans Van Laake being as articulate as ever. Not one, but two TV stations showed up at the Tigard party which was well attended by an enthusiastic crowd. In other news, get your July 20th copy of "Willamette Week":http://wweek.com/story.php?story=6522 and read the Murmurs :-) in which DFO was mentioned most positively about its latest statewide undertaking, the PAC. The National Nurse campaign continues- we received two endorsements just today-one from the NY First Responders and the other from the American Federation of Teachers. :-) Please think about attending Jenni's and Diana's house parties too. Go to http://www.party2win.com/dpo and click on attend party, then rsvp. :-) Back to nursing. Teri |

My party...
Unfortunately, none of my RSVPs turned out, so it was just myself and Lew Frederick. I did have a commitment on at least one contribution, though.
If you still need to donate, please consider doing it through my house party site: http://www.party2win.com/dpo?e=jenni
I'm not disappointed, though. I have a great list to work through for next time. I also found out the rec room at my complex is a great places for house parties (maybe even a Meetup!). I looked around and there isn't access to a phone line. However, if we had someone with a cell phone and a speakerphone hook-up we could do conference calls. There's also a nice TV/speaker setup-- I'd just have to cart my DVD player down there (they only have a VCR and CD player). There's also cable.
So unless there is a conflict, I'll be doing a houseparty again... I'll just have more time next time to call through the list of east county Dems so we can have a great turnout.
