NEW* MEHLMAN in Tigard, OR - 3 PM PDT: Kicking off Hispanic Heritage Month, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Ken Mehlman will travel to Tigard, Oregon on Wednesday, Sept. 14, to deliver remarks to Hispanic community and business leaders. [RNC Press Release]

Before I begin, does anyone know the exact location of where Ken Mehlman will be in Tigard?

Hi Fellow BFOers! It’d be great if to hold a rally and a press conference or something like it to make sure Mehlman and his Republican entourage hears from Oregonians that they're not welcome here after making a mess of the War in Iraq, skyrocketing Gas Prices and trying to privatize Social Security that'd put so many more people into poverty. I have plenty of signs on Social Security and talking points. May be three speakers to each talk about the three issues? I've sent this alert to friends at the Wash Co. Democrats as well.

Unfortunately, I’m going to be in Medford at that exact time for a separate press conference, but I just wanted to pass this info and thought along because it just seems like such a golden opportunity to hit the Republicans on Social Security, Gas Prices and the War and Ken Mehlman, as the Chair of the GOP, is a big target. Obviously, I’m personally more focused on Social Security, but I figured the three issues together will bring lots of people to attention.

This Wednesday Sept. 14th, the Chairman of the Republican National Committee, Ken Mehlman will be hosting a Conversations with the Hispanic Community event in Tigard, OR. To our knowledge this is the first time that the chairman of either political party holds an event like this for Latinos in the Pacific Northwest.

I want to invite you to this historic event, and to become a founding member of the Oregon chapter of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly, called HORA (Hispanics of Oregon Republican Assembly)
