Oregon Democrats Katrina Relief Program

Dear Oregon Democrats,

As we all know by now, our fellow citizens need our help. Hurricane Katrina has displaced more than a million people from their homes, ruining lives and causing untold hardship for those lucky enough to escape its wrath.

Oregon is now the destination for at least 1,000 survivors of Katrina, with many more likely to follow. As Oregon Democrats, we have committed to taking all possible actions to help our fellow Americans in this time of need.

Together, Oregon Democrats have launched a Hurricane Relief Program, and we will be collecting supplies at the DPO warehouse for our soon-to-be Oregonian brothers and sisters in need.

The most very basic of human necessities can make a world of difference for those people who will arrive in Oregon shortly. Please do all you are able to help in this effort.

In addition, the DPO's relief page includes information about links to organizations where you can make direct financial contributions to those working on the ground.

As active Oregon Democrats, we are about action. While it is important to discuss the government's response, follow the story on the news, and seek ways in which we might make the situation better – THIS IS THE WAY to directly influence the lives of these victims and help blunt the impact of Katrina's damage.
