Thursday Rapid Response: A new low for Reinhard
Submitted by Oregon Rapid Re... on November 10, 2005 - 11:31am
Oregon Report — Thursday, November 10, 2005 As always, there is no lack of topics for your LTEs — a general theme that comes to mind is the weakening, crumbling right-wing abuse of power and the resurgence of common-sense, fiscally responsible, good government with Democrats fighting for ordinary people. But for today I’ll just call our attention to David “Blowhard” Reinhard’s especially egregious Oregonian column, “A counterattack in the war over the war” The right-wing noise machine, from the White House down to local toadies like Reinhard, are all bleating the same tune, but it ain’t working. The American people are not going to be fooled again. If you want to dismantle one or two of his lies and distortions, go for it. For example—sure, the competent professionals on the Clinton team warned about Saddam’s possible WMD’s but that was before the dismantling of his WMD program and before the inspectors went in and confirmed he had no capabilities. Also, unlike the Bush zealots, the Clinton team never claimed falsely that Saddam had the capability to attack the US, and they never led us into a war on false pretenses. Never give up.
