Wal-Mart Parking Lot Crime and Falling Objects in Stores

There is speculation that Wal-Mart is planning to build in Tigard. What is a another good argument for Keeping this predator company out, other than traffic congestion?

Numerous incidents in Wal-Mart parking lots are cited in this West Virginia report. Wal-Mart does little to protect customers who have become easy targets for criminals.

Wal-Mart also has one of the highest rates for people getting injured by falling objects in its stores.

Wal-Mart parking lots are a virtual magnet for crime. Rapes, robberies and murders have occurred and result in litigation against Wal-Mart. But even with the knowledge that its parking lots are crime magnets, Wal-Mart did little to prevent crimes – in installing security cameras outside of stores, or putting security patrols on duty.
