Early April Campaign News from Lew Frederick
Submitted by Moses Ross on April 5, 2006 - 7:09pm
Lew Frederick for Multnomah County Commissioner Dist. 2 Lew on the A-List!
Canvassing: We will be canvassing neighborhoods and meeting people wherever they are to talk about Lew's candidacy during these final weeks of the primary campaign. Contact Johnell Bell at JohnellMBell@aol.com or 503-453-4554 to help. Now is the time. Yes, you are needed. Lawn signs: We have lawn signs! Contact the office at 503.282.1016 to get yours and some for your neighbors! Listening to the community: Lew has been all over the district and the city talking with and listening to voters, civic leaders, neighbors, County employees and everyone else about the challenges facing our community. Recently he's been to services at Bethel AME Church and Highland Church of Christ. He's been to many, many neighborhood and business association meetings, and spoken with the staff at the District Attorney's office. He's appeared with other candidates at forums held by the Concordia and Rose City Park Neighborhood Associations, as well as the Eastside Democratic Club. One candidate said that they could probably almost give each other's speeches by now! Last Sunday, Lew spoke at a Bus Project event with 12 Legislative candidates, Barbara Roberts and John Kitzhaber. He's also been to conferences on planning for a pandemic and John Kitzhaber's Archimedes Project. And that's just a sampling. Eating and sleeping? Nah. That will have to wait until May 17. The money chase: It's crunch time for campaign cash. Even the most grass-roots focused campaign needs money to print literature and organize all of us volunteers. A quick and easy way to give is at the website, www.Vote4Lew.com, where the program asks for all of the legally required info before taking your contribution. Checks are nice too. Every dollar makes a difference. Lew at events for Earl Blumenauer, Susan Castillo: On Wednesday, April 19, there will be a gala evening of looking back on Earl Blumenauer's 1/3 of a century of public service, and forward to the future of Oregon. Lew will be in the video. Go to http://www.earlblumenauer.com/ to reserve a ticket, or call the Blumenauer campaign office at 503-235-3399. Lew is helping host Susan Castillo's "One Month to Go" party, at Wieden+Kennedy, 224 NW 13th Ave. on April 24th, 5:30-7:30. Come to one of the most creative offices in the world and join with community, education, and civic leaders to support our State Superintendent as she heads into the final stretch of her re-election campaign. Delicious hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and good music! RSVP to 503-288-20-06 or email questionsforcastillo@gmail.com Friends of Lew Frederick Web: www.Vote4Lew.com
