Whose Voice Are They Protecting? Vote Yes on 46 and 47.
Submitted by Jefferson on October 24, 2006 - 7:12am
The groups that oppose campaign finance reform in Oregon have banded together to launch a "Protect Our Voices" campaign. Until now, the donors had been presumed to have been primarily labor unions out to protect "Oregon Progressives" from captains of industry, deep pocket corporations, etc. Turns out that the unions were just playing front man for a who's who of special interests that currently dominate both side of our political process in Salem ... Let's have a look at who is contributing... Associated Oregon Industries 25,000 Exactly whose voices are they trying to protect, anyway? Don't believe the spin. Vote YES on 46 and 47. |

It's Money that Matters
Do you hear what I say?
Left, right, union, big business, pro-life, pro-choice: it's all the same when it comes to money in the political process. Folks who owe their Christmas bonuses to the amount of cash that flows through their political program can't stand Fair Elections. They don't want the people of Oregon taking away their toys. No matter the health of democracy. No matter the independence of elected officials.
Over at BlueOreogn, Jonathan Poisner of OLCV laments the $2 million from corporate polluters going to Ron Saxton. It's lamentable that OLCV opposes Measure 47, which would allow those polluters to give Saxton $0. That's right, nada.
Ready for a chorus of Fair Elections for Oregon?
