BlogsNovick's "attack" on MerkleySubmitted by Jenni on May 16, 2008 - 11:39am.A lot of blogs are going on and on about Novick's "attack"mailer on Merkley. Thus far, none of the postings I've seen have given the actual context or even the content of the mailer. Since I received one, I thought I'd share. Here's the full mailer, with the exception of the area with my name and address (click images for larger version): The part that is getting the most attention is the item in the bottom left corner of the back of the mailer that covers health care: » Republican Party still stumping for candidate in SD 25Submitted by Jenni on May 16, 2008 - 12:12am.So, once again today we received correspondence from the Oregon Republican Party. Apparently they know that we haven't voted yet, but what they've failed to notice is the party affiliation change - there are no registered Republicans in this household. Today we received this post card:
So they're definitely still working hard to ensure the Republicans have someone on the ballot in November against State Senator Laurie Monnes Anderson. If it wasn't for this postcard and the previous letter, I'd have no idea this was going on. I haven't seen anything on The Outlook's web site, haven't heard anything around town, etc. So it still makes me wonder - are we the only district they're doing this in? And if they're going to spend money on an effort like this, doesn't it make sense to ensure the people are still registered as Republicans? » Podcast: Moses Ross interviews Ambassador Joe WilsonSubmitted by Moses Ross on May 10, 2008 - 12:08am.Ambassador Joe Wilson interviewed by Moses Ross on April 28, 2008. The interview took place in the offices of the Hillary Clinton for President in downtown Portland, Oregon. » Multnomah County Commission candidate: Rob MilesnickSubmitted by Jenni on May 8, 2008 - 7:49pm.As I've already said, I'm supporting Rob Milesnick for the District 3 seat on the Multnomah County Commission. Of all the candidates, he was the one who understands the strife that has been happening between the County and east county, and he has ideas on how to repair the broken relationship between the County and the cities in east county. Last month, The Oregonian endorsed my pick of Milesnick for the seat. From their endorsement:
» Obama is Coming to Roseburg!!!Submitted by kellyrose on May 8, 2008 - 3:19pm.I haven't seen anythingonline about this yet but I just got home from school and all morning there were guys in suits walking around our gym (robertson gym) with some black police cars. My other firend also noticed a lot of SUVs from out of state with Obama bumper stickers parked in the main lot. When I heard Obama was coming back to Oregon i flipped out -- when i realized he was coming to my high school I almost died! I can't wait to meet him -- so happy he cares so much about us he is willing to spend his time here!!!
