Electronic Voting Machines Will Eat Our Election

They've digested the millions of votes they gobbled up and made disappear in 2004 and are coming for more. And we can prove it.

Q&A with filmmaker David Earnhardt

Watch the Trailer

It's been four years since the 2004 election debacle and a mere 6 months before the next presidential election and yet these questions remain unanswered:

* Why do 18 states still use computerized electronic voting machines with no voter verifiable paper trail?
* Why are the machines still using proprietary software that is contractually protected from inspection?
* Why are private corporations, with no obligation to protect the public interest, still maintaining and monitoring these machines?

Hi all - This is the OREGON aspect of the Nation for Change Rally. This rally is going to be occurring nationally (and even internationally) at the same time - Saturday, April 19th at Noon, Pacific Time. We will be meeting at the Capital steps in Salem. This event is a show of support across our nation for Barack Obama. We are going to be saying IN UNISON - "this is our president everyone...listen to us!" (hey I like how that sounds!). Please come out, we are planning events at this time, but one thing is for sure, when we all say "one nation, under God, indivisible...." at the same time across our country, EVERYONE will be listening.

Thanks! Please show up and SHOW your support!

Missed Opportunity

During my tour of the internet, there's been a great deal of attention being given to the fact that websites for Republicans fail to identify that they are Republicans. The underlying theme here is that this year is going to be so bad for the GOPers that not only do they want to distance themselves from their President, they want to distance themselves from their own party.

Which brings up a question for Democrats - Why are we doing the same thing?

I can't speak for every Democratic candidate across the state, but I took a look at our local candidates and the governor's websites. Only one mentions their party - Brian Clem (seeking to unseat Billy Dalto), and that's in small font at the bottom of the page.

Otherwise, you'd be pretty hard pressed to guess which party the other candidates belong to. Gov. Ted? You might tell by the current story about the state party uniting behind him, but otherwise not a (D) to be found. Same with Rep. Darlene Hooley - not a mention that she's a Democrat (her opponent's TV ads sure as heck don't tell you that he's a Republican)...and on and on. I'd even go so far to guess that when canvassers knock on doors. they're handing out literature and there's no mention that their candidate is Democratic on it either.
